CREATING SAFE SPACES FOR WOMEN IN PUBLIC, AT WORK + ONLINE

Karen Whybro Consultant

I am a women's safety consultant with a mission to make all public spaces, workplaces and online platforms safe for women. I create campaigns to change attitudes and behaviours to reduce violence against women and girls, deliver training to ensure public spaces are positive experiences for women, places of inclusion with staff who are trauma-informed and work with businesses and organisations to reduce sexism in the workplace.

What I do

As a specialist in violence against women and girls, I work with a range of professionals across industries to make spaces safer for women. For towns and cities, I create and produce campaigns to change behaviours and attitudes, implementing Women's Safety Charters + providing training for employees. For businesses and organisations, I deliver training on how to reduce sexism and misogyny in the workplace. And for us all, I educate and campaign for safer online spaces.

Testimonials

The introduction of the Women's Safety Charter brings a great opportunity to influence behaviour change by adopting a capable guardian and active bystander approach for individuals and businesses. This will influence behaviours which will improve perceptions and in turn will increase confidence for all users of the evening economy."
